My Works

In the years that I’ve worked in this region, I’ve worked on many different projects.  Here are a few:

Project 1

This country garden has wonderful views across the lake to the mountains beyond, but the view was marred by a large silo.  The existing deck was in poor condition and had to be replaced and extended.  The brief was to screen the silos and create a more beautiful garden.  The owners are not keen gardeners, and they wanted a low-maintenance but interesting garden.  A gravel garden filled with native plants is a great solution for them.

Project 2

This small and narrow town garden is to the rear of the house and the challenging brief was to create a safe play space as well as a relaxing area for entertaining and barbecuing.  The area is very narrow, backed by a high neighbouring wall, which was in poor condition, and relatively shaded.  the first two pictures show the garden as it was.

The neighbouring wall has been screened, and the new seating and barbecue area is used a great deal.

A safe and usable play safe has been created at the back of the house.

Project 3

Show Garden, Coppet Concours Laurent Perrier 2009

The brief for this garden was to create a miniature version of a larger garden that could be created for a budget of 30,000 CHF.  The show garden itself had a budget of 1,000 CHF, and measured only 4m x 5m.  The garden was entitled “carré” and was a modern geometrical garden, built with sustainable materials and planted with indigenous and nectar-rich plants.  The bees, the public and the jury loved it!

Project 4
This village garden needed to be re-planted, and the owners wanted it to have more colour over a longer period.  I introduced more plants with bright foliage and a stronger structure to the garden.

The new trees frame the garden, and create an archway to explore the rest of the space.

This steeply sloping garden needed complete renovation, to include the removal of an outdoor pool, creation of a small Japanese garden, and creation and planting of a large slope to reduce train noise.  It also included the large-scale planting of a new collection of bamboos.
